Distinctive Home & Landscapes Ltd has evolved as a result of its owners desire to build a locally based company intent on providing personal service to discerning customers between Wellington and Kapiti Coast. Its director, Terry Johnstone, has many years of experience in home renovation and landscaping in both the residential and commercial sectors. After managing a number of other companies in various capacities, Terry began his own business which now boasts over 1200 individual contracts valued between $500 and $1,000,000. Although Distinctive H & L was only established in 2007, Terry has been involved in other Landscape companies since 1999 responsible for projects up to $1million and has forged connections with allied trades and suppliers for the benefit of future DHL customers.
Whether you have a plan of your own or you wish to request a landscape plan, we can help you through every stage of this process.
DHL works alongside leading Landscape Designers/Architects to aid both the planning and construction of your new landscape.
Let Terry and the team help transform your landscape professionally and cost effectively right now.
“We thoroughly enjoyed working with Terry to design our BBQ patio area which included a raised planter box, seating, paving, drainage and fencing. He was willing to discuss our ideas and, combined with his cost-effective suggestions, use his expertise to make it all work in the space available. We would be happy for Terry to do further work for us.” Nigel & Jo – Tawa

Every landscape team needs that young fella who has much to learn but can learn and use his youthful energy to do all those many ‘hard tasks’ the older guys would rather Not Do. Tyler is a recent school leaver and is using his time wisely by helping us every week to ‘get things done’. He eventually wants to fly planes (and can fly solo) so watch out as one day he might fly YOU. In the meantime, he grafts away daily, has become much better at backing trailers and will guarantee to work hard for you.
